"It's operation home safe we don't want anybody to drink and drive, we just want everybody to be safe."

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- For tonight festivities, whether you're at a house party watching the ball drop, or out on the town, there are plenty of options for you to get a sober ride home.

Everyone wants to bring in the New Year right and that means getting home from tonight's festivities safely.

"It's operation home safe we don't want anybody to drink and drive, we just want everybody to be safe," says Randy Huff the Owner of South Side Towing.

Around Bowling Green there are plenty of services to help you do just that. For free or for a small fee. South Side Towing is offering three different ways to get you to and from your party destination safely. Calling it Operation Home Safe.

"We have the South Side Sober Ride, we'll be out in full force. We start at 5 o'clock today and we'll go all the way until 6 or 7 in the morning. We will have drivers that will be on the bus so if you've drove and you want someone to drive your car home or if you've been somewhere and you need it towed, we will tow it home. Or if you just want to ride that bus, you can ride that bus home for free. It's all a free service, it doesn't cost you anything. We just don't want anybody to drink and drive," said Huff.

Last year Operation Home Safe said they gave over 500 people a ride home and tonight they're expecting that number to double.

Sober Scooter is another service ready to help tonight.

"We're a designated driving service, we come and drive you home in your own vehicle and then leave you there," said David Scott Hundley the Owner and Operator of Sober Scooter.

Bars around town have signs and business cards to help encourage their customers to take a safe route home.

"If anyone is interested in getting a ride home, we go ahead and hand them a business card and we will be glad to make a phone call for them," said Micki Holmes the Owner of 440 Main.

Most driving services say they're staying out for as long as it takes to get everyone in need home safely. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
