Bowling Green Parks Add new Tee It Forward Program at Golf Courses

By  |

Today, Bowling Green City Parks and Recreation celebrated the launch of a new program, Tee it Forward. It's aimed at bringing new and experienced golfers to the city's courses.

City and park officials gathered for a ribbon cutting at Crosswinds golf course. The program gives the city courses two additional tees at each hole, giving golfers at different experience levels more options when playing.

"Level one tees play form about 3,000 yds, and level two from 4,000 yds. It just makes the game more enjoyable and fun again. You're hitting shorter irons into greens. It's great for junior players and beginners, and families can go out and play together," said Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Golf Course Operations Superintendent Tony Witmer.

The Tee It Forward program joins the city's new texting program as another way to get new golfers involved in the game.
