BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- The Bowling Green Police Department held its annual “Employee Awards Ceremony” this morning.
Awards were given for years of service, along with recognizing those who were promoted in 2013. Officers were also awarded for traffic, DUI and seat belt safety. Medals were distributed for character, life saving and meritorious service.
Officer Josh Hughes was presented the "Character Counts" award.
"I try to live my life every day with character. I try to be honest and fair. I try to give to the guys that give to me. To Be recognized by my peers for that, it means a whole lot for me. Especially in a place where so many of the other guys have such high character. So to be recognized for that, it is a great honor," said Officer Hughes, Character Counts Award recipient.
