First responders, city employees and the public gave blood today at the Bowling Green Police Department.
The American Red Cross was in the department's community room today. Many people came to donate something one officer says first responders see a need for more than anyone. He says it's a way to give without spending a dime.
"I've been donating blood for a long time. It's one of the things you can do to help your community, and it doesn't cost you any money to donate and help someone," said Bowling Green Police Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward.
Officer ward says people are eligible to give blood every eight weeks, and hopes to host another drive soon.
