Bowling Green Police Hiring Officers

Those with an interest in law enforcement may have a new opportunity this month.

Bowling Green Police is hiring officers, and say now is the time to apply.

Police say they have an application process twice a year, and the number of job openings varies.

Applicants must take tests for the position each time they apply.

The Department says it looks for a few specific traits in candidates.

"We hire for character and train for skill. If you're an honest person... you have good character... good moral values... then you would fit in, because the person we're looking for is not a person that's going to be a police officer the first day. We can train you how to do that," said Bowling Green Police Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward.

Officer Ward says those interested in the position should pick up an application at City Hall.

The deadline to turn in applications is Jan 25.
