The Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police has re-accredited the Bowling Green Police Dept. for the fifth time.
They are one of only two agencies in the state to be accredited at least five times. Departments have to pass extensive documentation standards and inspections to be accredited.
"Accreditation translates into performance if you will, and what we believe is the benefit for the community, is that they can expect the Bowling Green Police Department to perform their duties and services at a very high level," said Bowling Green Police Chief Doug Hawkins.
The Bowling Green Police Department will be presented with an official certificate of accreditation at the annual KACP conference in August.
