Two Bowling Green Organizations are joining forces to create business and develop downtown Bowling Green.
The Downtown Redevelopment Authority and the Fountain Square Business Association are merging.
The DRA began 35 years ago with a focus on the needs of downtown merchants, and now it says it's getting back to its roots.
"It's like one hand washing the other. By doing this merger, we're basically bringing together both organizations that are after the same thing, but we'll just be more effective," said Downtown Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Ron Murphy.
Murphy says one goal is to bring more residential spaces, believing they will in turn draw in more business.
The DRA will be announcing plans for it's new marketing and branding plans within the next few weeks.
