BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Drivers continue to plan for possible delays around Bowling Green's “Roundabout” construction project.
The construction is aimed to relieve traffic congestion. Many are finding the construction affects their daily drive.
Drivers are flagged by signs, road officials are easy to sight while warning drivers to drive slow through construction.
"During the construction project, our main goal is for traffic safety and worker safety. We do have some delays but it's just for safety precautions," said Brad Hall, Transportation Engineer.
The entrance to Chestnut Street from Hwy 31 W remains closed, however there is an alternate route.
"Chestnut Street will be reopening soon. It will be in the near future. Somewhere in the next couple of weeks," said Brad Hall, Transportation Engineer.
Loving Way also remains closed.
"There's not been must congestion with the closures we've had. It's just been a minor impact in everyone's opinion," said Brad Hall, Transportation Engineer.
Workers continue to ask drivers to use caution while using these roadways and avoid using cell phones if at all possible.
Officials say the project is scheduled to be completed by August 11.
