The Kentucky Fire Commission received a shiny red donation at a special ceremony Monday afternoon.
The City of Bowling Green and the Fire Department handed over the keys to a fire truck to Bowling Green Technical College.
BGTC then transferred ownership of the truck to the Kentucky Fire Commission, which is located on their campus, so they can use it to train firefighters.
"We think this is going to help us as much as it helps them and we're just glad to be able to do it and make use of a truck that is still in good condition but needs retiring," says Greg Johnson, the Fire Chief of the Bowling Green Fire Department.
"This is just a win win situation for us, the community, and the community college, and everyone involved down here," says Ronnie Day of the Kentucky Fire Commission.
The Regional Fire Training Center serves fire departments throughout the 10 counties of the Barren River region.
