CVE Officers Seize Large Amount of Money in Simpson County

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. -- Officers with Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green say the CVE division seized close to $10,000 dollars following an early morning traffic stop on Friday.

At approximately 7:39 AM, a senior officer stopped a silver 2011 Toyota Camry for a traffic offense.

The vehicle was travelling on I-65 northbound, near the 4 mile point inside Simpson County.

Upon interviewing the driver, officers say they developed cause to initiate a search of the vehicle’s contents.

Officers say they found nine bundles of U.S. currency concealed in a sock within the trunk area of the vehicle, a hand count of the currency revelaed close to $10,000.

The Louisville DEA Office has placed an administrative seiszure on the monies.
