SAN MARCOS, Calif. (AP) -- Firefighters have made progress battling several wildfires in California's San Diego County.
But one blaze in San Marcos is especially giving them a hard time.
A flare-up of the fire prompted officials on Thursday to issue more than 18,000 new evacuation notices.
Meanwhile, the discovery of a burned body in Carlsbad may be the first fatality since nine wildfires broke out in the county.
