Mayfield police found Watkins walking on the side of the road about 20 minutes later.

Troopers and Mayfield police found the van in a parking lot in Mayfield.

Watkins was serving time for auto theft, burglary and theft.

Watkins was charged escape and taken to the Calloway County Jail.
