Car vs. Horse Accident

A car versus horse accident in Russell County causes a man to be air-lifted to the hospital.

Police say 31-year-old Chad Roy of Russell Springs was riding his horse on Kentucky 76 near Eli around 7:30 Wednesday night.

The horse was hit from behind by a Chevy Suburban driven by 32-year-old Lyna Riggins, also Of Russell Springs.

Riggins says she did not see Roy or the horse because it was dark.

She and her passenger, 7-year-old Tate Riggins was not injured.

Roy was flown to the UK Medical Center where his condition is not known.

The horse did not survive.
