BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- High water covered roads across the area in a flash as rain fell Saturday afternoon.
Some of those roads quickly became impassable, forcing officials to shut a few down where cars were submerged.
One of the areas most affected by the flooding was Fairview Plaza on the By-Pass.
Half of the parking lot was marked with caution tape.
Inside several feet of water flooded a few cars, including one woman's car, which was swept away by water.
Lucky for her, several employees from a nearby business rushed to her rescue.
"The current just swept me in, and all of a sudden my car started going toward the drainage, and it started turning sideways and started filling up with water and I couldn't get out," said Robin Pearson.
"I'm glad we got to her. She was in shock when we got to her. So I'm glad we did help her out," said Luke Growden, who helped rescue Pearson.
Drivers also reported flooding on portions of Campbell Lane and on Scottsville Road near the mall.
Officials say it's important to approach water-covered roads with caution.
