UPDATE: 15-Year-Old Oakland Boy Hit By Car While Riding Bike

Updated: Fri 10:31 AM, Aug 17, 2012

Warren County Sheriff's Deputies say a 15-year-old Oakland boy was hit by a car while riding a bike Thursday evening.

They say the teenager was struck by a car driven by 37-year-old Amy Webster, also of Oakland, just after 7:30 Thursday night. According to deputies, Webster topped a hill in the 1000 block of Pondsville Road, and was unable to avoid hitting the teen.

According to emergency personnel, the boy was tossed over the windshield which was broken out by the impact. They say he was not wearing a helmet.

Gott and Richardsville Volunteer Fire Departments responded, and an Air Evac helicopter landed at the Kentucky Transpark to fly the boy to Vanderbilt Hospital. There is no report on his condition.
