Tonight, Santa came a little early for some local children, and this time he had a more contemporary means of transportation.

"He was able to come in on the Ashley truck and meet the kids," said Paul Penton, Ashley Furniture Administrative Manager.

Ashley Furniture provided local children with presents, but the organizers say watching them open those gifts wasn't even the best part.

"To sit down and have them come to him and just read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas', and see them really listening and intent on his every word was great," said Penton.

Each family made a wish list for their children, but the kids were so excited, many forgot what they had asked for.

"I asked for WB wrestlers... and I have no idea what else," said Zack Rodgers.

When he opened his presents, he was pretty excited to see exactly what he wanted.

"I got WB...it's a battle pack, and I got Cane with John Cena," said Rodgers.

He wasn't alone. Another child told Santa she wanted to play in the WNBA and she received a gift that may help her.

"I'll be practicing my dribbles... and that's pretty much it," said Kelsey Linville.

The families say watching the kids talk to Santa and open all of their presents was a priceless experience.

"It's been really great. It's a wonderful thing they do, and we really appreciate it," said Jenny Gouy.

Ashley Furniture purchased all of the toys, and even some members of the WBKO news, weather, and sports teams were able to share the experience.

The event helped 21 children from seven families in need receive Christmas presents this holiday.

This was the seventh annual Christmas for the Children.
