Church Trailer Found, Puppets Recovered

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) -- A trailer containing puppets that a Paducah church uses in its ministry has been found in the Monkey's Eyebrow community.

According to The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/R2nIbd ), a Ballard County man saw the trailer Monday and suspected it was the one reported stolen from the Newton Creek Baptist Church in McCracken County in western Kentucky. He called police.

McCracken County sheriff's Capt. Matt Carter said it appeared the church recovered all 50 of the puppets inside the trailer. Some more expensive gear, including stage lighting, was missing.

Carter said enough evidence has been recovered that he believes the thieves will be caught.

The trailer was stolen over the weekend.
