Churchill Downs is opening a new off-track betting parlor on Wednesday.
The Louisville track's simulcast wagering operations are moving to a first-floor venue at the Gate 1 entrance.
Race fans will enter the venue, called The Parlay, through the track's admission gates adjacent to the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Track officials say the approximately 14,000-square-foot facility will easily accommodate 600 fans. The facility will also house the track's media operations leading up to the Kentucky Derby and during its three live racing meets.
The simulcast wagering venue is one of four capital projects totaling $9 million launched in mid-2012 by Churchill Downs racetrack.
The Parlay features a 24-foot bar and a food service area.
Churchill will continue its Wednesday-through-Sunday simulcast schedule in The Parlay, depending on availability of signals.
