Clinton County Teacher Dies in Plane Crash

Clinton County Teacher Michael Anders was one of three victims who died in a plane crash this past Friday.

A plan that took off from Florida was going to Knoxville when it crashed before it got out of Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Michael Anders, 57, of Albany, Ky., was one of three victims on the plane.

Duane L. Shaw, 59 of Albany, Ky., and Charissee M. Peoples, 42, Indianapolis, Ind. also died in the plane crash.

Officials are investigating the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board is collecting evidence.

Anders was a Spanish teacher at Clinton County High School, and his principal said he always had a funny comment.

"He was always quick to tell a funny story or a neat little fact from history or a joke. When he met you in the hallway, even if you had a short conversation, he always had something interesting to say. He was always very happy," said Clinton County High School Principal Sheldon Harlan.

The school district said he will be deeply missed by staff and students.
