WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) Runners were covered in color as the made their way through the race course at Beech Bend Park Saturday morning.

They ran in Bowling Green's first Color Vibe 5K.

Portions of the entry fees were donated to the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center.

The funds will help SKyPAC's efforts in providing educational programming and future arts experiences to the community.

"We did expect to have more participants, but for what we've gotten, it's been a great day. We've had tons of community members come by and say hello to us, so it's great to see everybody come out and enjoy the day," said Jessica Kem, the marketing manager at SKyPAC.

About 800 people ran today and were blasted with non-toxic colored cornstarch at color stations throughout the course.

Organizers hope to the bring back the race next year.
