Convicted Murderer gets Life

BOWLING GREEN, KY -- In 2003 Phillip Brown was convicted of beating and stabbing Sherry Bland to death in her home in January 2001. But in 2005 the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled some evidence was wrongly excluded from the case.

Brown was retried in Warren County in 2006, where he was sentenced to "death." But the state supreme court overruled that sentence, so at his resentencing hearing in Warren Circuit Court Wednesday, Brown accepted his original sentence, "life without the possibility of parole for 25 years."
