LEITCHFIELD, Ky. -- A deputy coroner says a man whose body was recovered in Rough River Lake this spring died from a low voltage electrocution.
Grayson County Deputy Coroner Howard Tomes says two live cords stretching from a dock to a houseboat fell in the water. Tomes says that caused the water to become electrified before Kyle McGonigle jumped in on May 20 to find his dog.
An electrical inspection report listed several violations, including splices in the cords, non-functioning receptacles, shore power receptacles in poor condition and broken covers.
No charges have been filed in McGonigle's death.
