RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) -- A man and a woman were found dead in their Richmond home Friday night, according to the Madison County coroner.
The assistant police chief identified the victims as Avery Evans, 42, and 46-year-old Karen Simpson.
The coroner says he is waiting for autopsy results to reveal how the couple died.
Evans' brother says he had been trying to get a hold of his brother for several days but his calls weren't going through.
He says about 7 p.m. Friday he stopped by his brother's house on Valley Street to check on him.
He says he went in through the back door, which had been smashed open, and found his brother and his brother's girlfriend dead in the living room.
When we asked police if they have a motive, they told us they are familiar with the couple who was found dead from past drug investigations.
Worried neighbors say they are concerned about their safety.
"I'm concerned, I'll watch real closely and if I see something that is out of the ordinary or wrong then I'll have the police here in a minute," said a man who didn’t want to be identified.
Police tell us they don’t have any suspects at this time.
