It's time for Bowling Green Police's annual Cram the Cruiser coat drive.

In partnership with the Junior Women's Club's Coats for Kids, the Police Department will be collecting new and gently used coats at several locations in town to distribute to those in need, and they need your help.

They will be collecting coats through December 1.

Police say there is no such thing as too many coats, because there is always a need.

"Basically anyone who needs a coat, will get a coat, it's that simple. And that's the whole point of doing it... to make sure people have what they need," said Bowling Green Police Captain Melanie Watts.

Captain Watts says the coat drive was able to provide more than a thousand coats to those in need last year.

This Wednesday there will be a cruiser in front of Greenwood Mall where you can drop off coat donations.

You can drop coats off at the cruiser in front of the Bowling Green Police Department, all eight BB&T Bank branches, Bowling Green Ballpark, the L&N Train Depot, First Baptist Church Daycare, Graves Gilbert Clinic,Nat's Outdoor Sports, General Motors Plant, and Bowling Green Athletic Club.

The coats will be cleaned by Big B Cleaners and distributed at Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 8a.m. to 12p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 9a.m. to 11a.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 8a.m. to 12p.m. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
