BOWLING GREEN, KY (WBKO ) -- On July 11, Bowling Green Police were contacted by American Bank and Trust regarding a fake check being cashed on a local account.
Employees told police a man entered the Nashville Road branch and cashed a check for more than $2400 written to him by a local business. The man then tried to cash another check, on the same business, at the Scottsville Road branch. As the teller was verifying the check, the man ran from the bank.
After speaking with the business, the bank was able to determine both checks were counterfeit . The man is described black male in his late fifties with a short, stocky build.
