Crime Stoppers: Franklin Bank Robbery

The Franklin City Police Department is investigating a bank robbery.

Police say around 9:40 a.m. Monday, July 30, they received a call of a bank robbery at Citizens First Bank on South Main in Franklin.

Police say a woman entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller gave the robber money, and she fled the bank in a car toward I-65 south. Prior to entering the Interstate, the suspect stopped at Key Stop Travel Plaza and discarded items used during the robbery.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a silver Honda with a Tennessee license plate with the last two letters of "VY". The robber is described as a white female, 5'6", 135 lbs., blonde hair wearing a brown pony tail wig and in her mid 30's or 40's. She was wearing a cap with a "peace" sign in rhinestones, glasses, and a white t-shirt.
