Crime Stoppers: Kroger Shooting & Robbery

By Gene Birk |

Bowling Green Police say they received a call at 6:40 a.m. Thursday December 6, saying someone had been shot behind Kroger on Scottsville Road.

Officers found the victim, Robert Lipscomb, and a witness, who told police a white male had approached the driver, pointed a gun, and demanded money. The two men fought over the gun momentarily, which resulted in Lipscomb being shot.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20's, wearing glasses, with blue eyes and sandy-brown hair. He wore a dark sweatshirt with "WKU" in red letters on the front, and stonewashed jeans.

Robert Lipscomb is now back at work. In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward, his employer, JB Distributors, is now putting up a $3,500 reward for the conviction of the shooter.
