Kentucky Transportation Officials say I-65 is now open after being closed for several hours.
Kentucky State Police say two different wrecks happened today on I-65 at the same mile marker leaving six dead and three more with life threatening injuries.
Police say at about 11:13 EST at the 83 mile marker in Hardin County, a semi-truck crashed with two passenger vehicles in the northbound lanes of I-65.
Six people were killed in a vehicle fire, and two more were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with critical injuries.
Police also say another wreck happened also at the 83 mile marker in Hardin County involving a semi-truck and three cars, and one suffered life threatening injuries.
