(WBKO) -- Democrat candidate for Congress, Ron Leach, is challenging U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie to multiple debates.
In a letter sent to the Guthrie campaign, the Meade County democrat asked the congressman to debate him on the "Paul Ryan budget," but also said other issues could be discussed.
Leach has already booked three locations for debates in August.
One right here in Bowling Green at WKU, one in Elizabethtown and another at Centre College.
The proposal says the campaign is working on a fourth in Owensboro.
The Guthrie campaign gave this statement to WBKO Thursday which says in part, "He (Guthrie) Is planning to have one of the most aggressive town hall meeting schedules in the nation during the august work period, as he has done in years past. We'll focus on politics later. Today, we are focused on policy solutions and getting things done."
