BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- One doctor's office was not only seeing patients Wednesday, but was getting set up for a 4th of July picnic on Thursday.
Dr. Craig Tyree is inviting his current and former patients to the Barren River Regional Cancer Center cookout in Glasgow.
They'll be grilling catfish, burgers and hot dogs. Funnel cakes will also be available.
Tyree said he hosts the picnic to brighten the mood at his office.
"Because when you have patients normally coming in for treatment and everything, it's not something they're really excited about, but whenever you do get to come to this it's a good time for everybody to get together. Also see other patients who have been through the same things, and just have a fun day with it. So, it's always just a great deal of fun for the staff and for the patients. It's wonderful," Tyree said.
Tyree has done this for a few years now and is looking forward to seeing his patients tomorrow.
