Doctors Must Meet Tougher Prescription Standards

Governor Steve Beshear signed emergency regulations requiring doctors to meet tougher prescription standards in an effort to stop drug abuse.

Under the order, pain clinics will be more regulated and doctors must use the state's prescription drug tracking system.

The rules will remain in effect until permanent regulations are adopted.

Doctors are not seeing eye to eye with the governor on the emergency regulation. They say it is stricter than other proposed legislation.
