Donation To Benefit Kentucky Sheriff's Boys And Girls Camp

Updated: Thu 9:37 PM, Aug 30, 2012

A camp will continue to brighten the lives of children thanks to a generous donation.

Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial presented the Warren County Sheriff's Department with a check for $2,500.

The money will be used to support the Kentucky Sheriff's Boys and Girls Camp where under privileged kids do everything from swimming to finishing.

Sheriff Peanuts Gaines looks forward to camp each year, and says the kids become more involved with law enforcement.

"After they have been there and around, they stay a week. They have fun and the mingle with the deputies and as some of them get older they say hey I went to boys camp or girls camp and I want to get into law enforcement," says Gaines.

Gaines also says each sheriff's department in Kentucky supports the camp.

Warren County was able to raise $16,000 from an annual golf tournament.
