Dozens Race at Soapbox Derby This Weekend

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) -- The 17th Annual BB&T All-American Soap Box Derby was Saturday.

At Phil Moore Park, more than 100 racers participated in one of the largest regional soap box derbies in the country.

Stock racing started Friday night and continued through Saturday when super stock racing started.

"It's a kid's event. It's geared toward kids and families. All the proceeds that we end up getting from the race goes toward kids' charities that we give out through Kiwanis here locally," said the race director, Chad Goodman.

"I love the thrill of going down the hill, and I love the people you meet. It's awesome," said one racer, Bailer Peterson.

The participants were from age 7 to 17, and they said they were thankful it wasn't too hot outside today because it made racing more comfortable. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
