Drivers Say Gas Prices, Traffic Not As Bad As Expected This Holiday Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

TripAdvisor reports almost 35% of people across the country are traveling this week -- up from 27% last year.

WBKO spoke with some people driving down I-65 who stopped to fill up at a Bowling Green gas station.

One man says the traffic and gas prices aren't as bad as he expected this time of year.

"The gas prices are pretty low compared to where I'm from back home. I think I paid $3.69 when I left. It's at $3.49 now. So good, this beast can get up to $80 on this sucker," said Tyler Viars, who was driving from Mississippi to Ohio.
