A Bowling Green business is temporarily laying off nearly 300 workers.
Eagle industries is a furniture company, and is talking to a new investor to possibly purchase the company.
Banks are asking the company to suspend production while this transaction is taking place.
President Mike Ingram says the temporary lay-off could last a few weeks.
"We hope it's going to be a good thing for us. I think the investment group coming in will give us some capital to diversify our product line and move us in a couple of different direction, hopefully getting Eagle moving in the right direction again," Ingram says.
He says Eagle Industries wanted to change some things with the resurging economy.
He says there is no indication any employees will be laid off permanently.
