BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The roundabout project on 31W in Bowling Green hasn't hit any stop lights and will be completed a few days earlier than originally expected.
The roundabout is expected to open about noon August 8th -- weather permitting.
Until then, drivers should use caution as more construction traffic and landscapers will be in the area.
One more big change is expected at the end of next week.
"We are expecting the entire closure of the intersection to take place at the first of August. We will have an exact date when that will start, hopefully, the first of next week. That will be about a week -- probably less than a week period -- where the entire intersection will be closed," said Wes Watt, the public information officer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3.
Watt said detour signs will indicate where drivers can go.
Campbell Lane and Russellville Road will be on those routes.
He said drivers should plan for extra time to get around when the intersection closes.
