NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say firefighters are battling a fire at a plant in McEwen that makes explosives and rescuers are responding to injuries.

A dispatcher with Humphreys County said firefighers from two counties were working on the blaze at the Accurate Energetic Systems on Wednesday afternoon. A spokesman from Vanderbilt University Medical Center confirmed that two patients were being flown there by helicopter to be treated for injuries.

The dispatcher said the plant is located on the border between Hickman and Humphreys counties. She said firefighters reported that the blaze at the plant was extinguished but they were putting out a brush fire that resulted from the fire at AES.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
