With more than 800 million users and 70 different language translations, Facebook is the social networking king.
The website's recent announcement to become a publicly traded company is making waves in the investment world.
"I check my Facebook like 16 times a day," says WKU senior, Robert Whittley.
College senior Robert Whittley is honest, like the majority of those in this WKU classroom, Facebook has become an intricate part of his life.
"I'm not a big fan of Facebook's move to go public," says Whittley.
Whitley says he doesn't like the company's decision to become a publicly traded company.
"They're gonna be more concerned about what their stock holders say..," says Whittley.
Many of these students like the idea of Facebook being free, simple and just cool.
But Facebook is growing up and is seeking an initial public offering of 5 billion dollars.
That's the largest website IPO ever and Dr. Will Clouse at WKU's College Of Business says users should expect some changes.
"I think we're gonna see more on there than just text and pictures, like possibly things like music," says Dr. Clouse.
Unlike some of these students, Dr.Clouse likes the idea of Facebook entering the stock market.
"Those stock holders are going to make sure that the company is ran well," says Dr. Clouse.
Financial planner, Jeanne fisher says Facebook's IPO is shaking up the investment world.
But for the usual investor, Fisher says buying into the social network right now might be a mistake.
"It will probably be overvalued at it's initial offering because everyone knows and uses Facebook, and than again that's what makes a bad investment," says Fisher.
Experts believe that once Facebook starts trading, it could be worth between 75 and 100 billion dollars.
