Fall Is Officially Here

By Jake Boswell |

The colors are changing and the temperatures are cooling off. Which can only mean one thing, fall is here. Businesses like Jackson's Orchard relish the season because it's quite possibly their busiest time of the year.

"When you think of fall you think about: football, apples, and apple cider, and pumpkins and all that kind of stuff. We try to have a caramel apple or an apple pie or a wagon ride. We just kind of fit in with the fall season." said Bill Jackson of Jackson's Orchard.

Chaney's dairy barn is known for their ice cream in the summer but when fall comes around they're ready for the season.

"Everyone mainly comes for food in the fall. As well as the corn maze and the pumpkin patch and stuff like that." commented Morgan Watkins of Chaney's Dairy Barn.

Now that the new season is here, it's a fresh slate after a very hot summer.

"We hauled water in tanks for the thirsty trees, which is kind of like watering a thirsty horse with a teacup. Early on it was hot and dry and they didn't set and then they all set. We've got a gazillion pumpkins out there right now that are green. About October when we need good ripe pumpkins we're gonna have a bunch of them." said Jackson of the weather.

Rounding out a crazy year of weather, one can only hope this fall can bring some meteorological stability. Not to hot. Not to cold. But just right.
