This Saturday is the first day of fall, and to mark the season, the Barren River District Health Department educated seniors with through Falls Prevention Awareness Day.

A health fair was held at SKyPac to teach them about staying healthy.

A number of screenings were offered to help with healthy and safe aging.

Health educator, Dustin Falls, recommends several things seniors can do to age well.

"Increase exercise, making sure that your vision is taken care of -- going out and getting those vision screenings every year, your home health screenings -- making sure that your home is safe, and we also want to do medicine review -- making sure that we're checking our medicines."

About 70 seniors attended Falls Prevention Awareness Day.
