LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A Louisville boy has died after being struck in the head by a large tree limb during a sudden storm.
WHAS radio reported the Jefferson County coroner' office identified the victim as 13-year-old Zackery Wayne Foree and said the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma injuries. The boy died shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday at Kosair Children's Hospital.
Zackery was riding a scooter on a neighborhood street Wednesday afternoon when a fast-moving storm tore a limb from a tree and it fell onto him. Neighbors said it was so big they had to use a jar jack to lift it off of the boy.
Police put the injured boy in a squad car and took him to Baptist East Hospital. He was then transferred to Kosair.
