"Happy Father's Day," says a three-year-old girl at Mariah's.

"Happy Father's Day," a family cheered at Mariah's.

Daughters, sons, and other family members showered dads with love and affection on Father's Day.

"I appreciate him because he's a good friend and he makes me laugh, and I just love spending time with him," says Carly Gardner, who was spending Father's Day with her dad.

"I love being around my kids, that's what being a father is all about," says Jim Gardner, Carly's dad.

Many families flocked over to Mariah's in Bowling Green to spend quality time together and eat lunch.

"Father's day is special. I get to be with my family all day and they wait on me hand and foot," laughed Jack Cline, who spent the day with family.

That dad and his wife drove down from Harrodsburg to be with their 12-year-old son, who is currently attending summer camp at WKU.

His wife and son say they appreciate all he does.

"He's always coming to watch me play lacrosse and football and he's always been there for me when I really needed him and he's just a really nice dad," says 12-year-old Jack Cline.

"He just does a tremendous job with our kids and spends a lot of time with them and does special things with them," says Robin Cline, who spent the day with her son and husband.

One young teen spent part of the day with his grandparents. He says he enjoys hanging out with his grandfather.

"I like to spend a couple days during the week when I'm off work to fish with him and stuff like that," says 15-year-old Andrew Shahan.

His grandfather agrees.

"Everyday is a good day, but Father's Day is extra special," says Jim Rogers, who spent the day with his wife and grandson.

Some families say they also spent Father's Day going to church or the Hot Rods game.
