"Red and white! The red towel is taking over Hot Springs, Arkansas!"
"Red and white! The red towel is taking over Hot Springs, Arkansas," says Tony Rose of SAM 100.7-FM, and the voice to WKU Basketbal.
As hundreds of Topper fans have made their way South, fans in South Central Kentucky will be glued to their TV's.
"We are wanting to see a lively crowd. We want to see this place decked out in red tonight," says Keith Coffman, owner of Lost River Pizza.
Coffman creates WKU-themed specials including the Big Red Double Pepperoni Pizza.
As a WKU alum himself, Coffman plans to cheer on his alma mater alongside his customers.
"I expect people now to get excited about WKU athletics and the men's basketball program. Athletics now up on the Hill is at an all-time high. With the men's basketball program doing really well, football doing really well, women's basketball doing really well, it's just a really good time to be a topper," Coffman says.
"It doesn't get any bigger than this. This is the second year where we are one game away from going to the NCAA tournament," Rose says.
Last year, the Toppers won the conference tournament as a seven seed. This year, they could repeat history as a six seed.
"I've been talking to so many fans who left on Sunday morning to get down there in the Sunday night game. And now, tonight its amazing to see the commute of people heading to Arkansas on a whim. It's that fun atmophere, it's that energy," Rose says.
As the voice of WKU basketball, Tony Rose says a lot of WKU students are spending their spring break in Hot Springs.
"They are peaking at the right time. You want to be playing good going into conference play and the NCAA tournament," Coffman says.
The WKU Stores are expecting tonights game to boost their sales.
"As soon as we win tonight, they are going to print on the win and they will overnight them and we should have the shirts by Wednesday," says Jim Sears, Associate Director at The WKU Store.
Sears says he's been getting calls throughout the day asking when the "Sun Belt Conference Champions" shirts will be in.
