Cats or Cards? Everyone has chosen a side, and tonight at Lost River Pizza Co. in Bowling Green, both were ready to defend their team!
"I think it's gonna be a close one, but I think Kentucky's going to pull it off in the end with their hard determination!" exclaimed one UK fan.
"Kentucky always does good this time of year, we'll be fine," said another.
While they may be a bit outnumbered, the Cards fans are confident and ready to defend their territory here.
"I just can't wait for the Cardinals to beat the Cats so that we will be victorious in this restaurant," said one Louisville graduate.
For the most part, fans of each team have grouped together, but occasionally you'll find family members forced to coexist as enemies.
"I love UofL, but because she's been influenced negatively by her grandparents," said one mother. "It's not negative!" yelled her daughter.
"My parents are Cats fans. I grew up in Lexington. As a result, when I was getting my PhD, they asked does your blood bleed red or blue, and I had to explain to them, red all the way," said another UofL graduate.
At the end of the day, one fan reminds us everyone here has one thing in common.
"I think it's cool the state of Kentucky has two teams in the Sweet Sixteen. Of course I think Louisville is going to come out on top, but if not, I'm a proud Kentuckian either way," said Louisville fan Meredith Freeland.
However, at the end of the night, only one can claim they're the best in the state.
