Farmer's Markets Have Indoor Grand Opening

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Two farmer's markets had grand openings for indoor markets in Bowling Green on Saturday.

For its 10th anniversary, the SKY Farmer's Market joined Beechmont Farms to open for the first time indoors.

The Community Farmer's Market moved into a new building they've been working on for a while.

Folks involved with both said indoor markets are great for the entire community.

"So coming indoors when the weather gets cold really makes a lot of sense, because it's an opportunity to sell our products to the local population and also allows the local vendors to have a chance to sell their products," said Paul Wiediger with SKY Farmer's Market.

"People can sit and enjoy themselves and chat with everyone and get to know everyone else that's here. It helps foster that community even when it's cold out, and there are still plenty of fruits and vegetables that are available, and we've got a lot of good artisan and craft things," said Jackson Rolett from the Community Farmer's Market.

The SKY market is open every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 1:00 through December. It is located at 315 Beech Bend Road.

The Community market is open through December on Saturdays from 8:00 to 1:00 and Tuesdays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. It is located on Nashville Road between the Knicely Conference Center and WKU Bookstore.
