Many of you will probably be loading up the car this week to visit family for Thanksgiving.
AAA said about 90 percent will travel by car this year.
In the East South Central region, which includes Kentucky, more than 2.4 million people will travel by car -- down almost two percent from last year, despite the national gas price average being at its lowest point yet this year.
The majority leave Wednesday, making it the busiest day for holiday travel.
"Heavy traffic, so I try to leave either early in the morning or late that night before whatever holiday I'm going to go visit my family. The kids would be asleep and it won't be hectic traffic, so that's what I would do," said Tyra Gamble.
AAA said many will travel over 600 miles this Thanksgiving weekend, and they'll come home Sunday.
