Fire Kills Marion County Couple


The fire was extinguished but the residence, a mobile home, was a complete loss.

LEBANON, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 15 received a call at 6:07 a.m. EDT Monday from Marion County 911, requesting assistance with a fire investigation.

Multiple fire departments responded from Marion and Nelson County to a residential fire at 6310 Holy Cross Road, that was called in to Marion County 911 at approximately 3:36 a.m. EDT.

The fire was extinguished but the residence, a mobile home, was a complete loss. The investigation also revealed that 1 male and 1 female died in the fire. They have been identified as 60-year-old Thomas Wayne Cundiff, and his wife, 71-year-old Mary Rose Cundiff of Holy Cross, KY.

The cause of the fire has not yet been ,but no foul play is expected. Arson Investigator Alex Wesley and Detective Mike Dubree are investigating.
