Fire on Kenton Street in Bowling Green

Two apartments were damaged after a fire Thursday morning in Bowling Green.

It happened on Kenton Street. Residents say they noticed a fire in the attic and evacuated the building.

Bowling Green Fire Department tells us everyone was able to get out safely.

Officials say the quick response of firefighters kept the blaze under control.

"There was some smoke and flames visible when they got here. Everyone got out safely they put the fire out quickly and right now the cause is under investigation," says Marlee Boenig from the Bowling Green Fire Department.

There is now word on the extent of the damage to the apartments.
