BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Although the dry conditions are less than ideal for many farmers, other businesses are continuing to profit. With the 4th of July less than two weeks away, fireworks are currently flying off the shelves. One tent owner claims the weather is the reason he has seen a spike in sales, compared to previous years.
"This year it just seems like we have had a perfect balance of a little bit of rain, a little bit of sunshine and some nice cool weather, especially at night. Those things all help. They help us with our sales."
With the increase in sales, "Thunderdome" is making sure to put safety first. All city rules are being closely followed, meaning fireworks cannot be sold to anyone under the age of 18. Tent workers also say they want to make sure people read each label carefully before setting off their explosives.
