PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) -- Weather experts say people in Kentucky who are hoping to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday with fireworks should be careful because extremely dry weather could result in wildfires.
Meteorologist Jim Packett with the National Weather Service in Paducah told WPSD-TV in Paducah (http://bit.ly/LTVCgP ) that persisting dry weather between now and the holiday could create a problem. He said all it takes is a spark to set off a fire.
The National Weather Service recommends watering lawns before setting off fireworks to prevent sparks from starting grass fires or brush fires.
